New plan for tourism in London
The London Development Agency launched a new London Tourism Action Plan last month: a key aim is to harness the language skills of London's multicultural population to improve our welcome for visitors from all over the world.

International film festivals return to London

Languages Meet Sport conference 16-17 October, Trieste
'Languages meet Sport' is the first European Conference on Languages and Intercultural Dialogue through Sport. RLN London will be there to present on multilingual communications and the 2012 Games; Business Language Champion Arsenal Football Club will talk about their successful Double Club.

The Language Show 30 October – 1 November, Olympia, London
The Language Show is the UK's biggest event for language learners, teachers, linguists and anyone with a love of languages. Entry is free of charge, and a dedicated Language Careers Fair for jobseekers is also open throughout the show.

Translating and the computer conference 19-20 November, Congress Centre, London
This conference organised by Aslib and supported by organisations including the Institute of Translation and Interpreting offers new insights into the use of information technology for translation.
