Want simple, clear pointers on international trade? RLN London has helped to create a brand new range of publications which give importers and exporters tips and advice on how to take advantage of language and cultural skills and services.

European Day of LanguagesEuropean Day of Languages
Have you thought about learning a language - or encouraging your team to do the same? Why not take the plunge on 26 September, the European Day of Languages? If you're thinking about improving knowledge in your business or for your career, you can learn about new countries and cultures with our Welcoming the World programme. Find out more.

Try life in another language
The Government has launched a high profile campaign encouraging teenagers to 'try life in another language' - and improve GCSE languages take-up which has fallen in recent years. The latest push includes sponsorship of a T4 show titled 'Je suis un rockstar' and a series of cutting edge TV adverts. Find out more.

Award-winning Japanese project
The School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS) has won a European Award for Languages with its 'Jinrikisha' project - which uses audio recordings and podcasts to encourage adults to learn Japanese. Find out more.

Russian Film Festival

Winter Language Recruitment Fair
If you speak languages and are interested in finding a great job that matches your skills, this event is a must. For recruiters, it is an opportunity to meet skilled language professionals with experience across a range of industries. The fair is being held at London Olympia 2 in conjunction with The Language Show on the 31 October and 1 November. You can also visit RLN London's website for advice on language jobs and careers. Cultural briefingsBreakfast on Beijing
The Institute of Directors is hosting a breakfast briefing on China at Pall Mall on 21 October - helping you to make the most of new investment opportunities and overcome barriers to trade. RLN London has also created a range of cultural briefings covering territories including China. Find out more about the breakfast briefing.

Market to Mexico
Mexico is a high growth market for export trade, and UK Trade and Investment in London are running a free workshop on 4 November for businesses wanting to learn more about this territory. Find out more.

Latest report makes recommendations on language services for 2012
How can the higher education and language services sector enhance the image of London and the rest of the UK for international visitors? This is just one of the questions addressed by the research report, 'Languages and International Events' funded by Routes into Languages, which shows the need for early planning to create world-class language services provision. Seminar on the 14-19 Diplomas and languages
A free seminar at CILT, the National Centre for Languages on 3 December will give in-depth information about the make-up of the new Diplomas and explain where languages sit within them. This event is ideal for both teachers and language programme managers. Find out more.

Free Community Languages teaching assistant training courses
Could you act as a positive role model for young people in a multicultural classroom? Starting on 29 September and 20 October in Stockwell and Lewisham, Twin Training are offering full-time NCFE teaching assistants' courses in South East London.
