Making the most of Community Languages11 June 2007 When Londoners are conservatively estimated to speak 300 languages, it begs the question - how can we harness this linguistic diversity for new business, employment and training opportunities? ITIC 21 - The Institute of Translation and Interpreting's Anniversary Conference21-22 April 2007 ITI Conferences are always a combination of interesting presentations, fine company and an active social programme, and this year was no exception. Held at the Rembrandt Hotel in Knightsbridge, the event included presentations from Juana Lahousse-Juárez, Director General for Translation and Interpreting at the European Parliament - as well as spots from both Gill Musk at CILT on National Occupational Standards, and Jane Collis from Regional Language Network London - on opportunities for linguists in the run-up to the 2012 Games.
