Giving advice step by step

It's a smart, simple diagnostic tool which makes it easy for you to find the right solutions and to guide clients through the information and resources RLN London has to offer.

Step 1

Familiarise yourself with the Language and Cultural Planner. It's a pop-up tool which asks a series of simple questions about your client - on their type of business, their team and the services they might need, from the point of view of languages and culture. Once the questions have been answered, the Planner links to pages in the business area of our website offering tailored advice, to business guides, to cultural briefings and to case studies.

Step 2

Talk to your client about the ways in which they encounter language and cultural issues in their business. Do they trade internationally? Do they deal with visitors to London who don't always speak English? Do they provide services to local communities who come from many different cultural backgrounds? London businesses employ a diverse range of people, so managing a multicultural workforce may be a factor too. Read examples of businesses discussing their situation and benefiting from the advice given.

Step 3

Open the Language and Cultural Planner. Enter the business name and your or your client's email address. Based on your discussion, you can select the statements which relate to their business, their team and the business support they need. Once you submit your answers, the Planner will intelligently pick a tailored range of advice, resources and case studies for your client.

Step 4

Get advice and solutions. Our Planner links directly to advice, resources and case studies on the RLN London website in your original browser window. You can save these results as a PDF, email them to your client or print them. You may also like to save, print or email some of the resources that the Planner points you to.
